FINAL POST !!!!!!!

Over the past 17 days to make a difference i have learnt about myself that everything is possible and it does make a change in what you do to help out , it also makes you a better person and a better citizen.
this task has been very helpful for me and for my family (not having to do the dishes ect ...)
Out of 10 i would rate my 17 days a 9/10 for my 17 days.
I have learnt not to expect my mum to do every for me and also to help out more at home.

Day 17

Today I made a difference by sharing my hash browns I had ordered for lunch with my friends. It made me feel really good about myself for sharing with friends.

Day 16

I made some pikelets for afternoon tea to make a difference. My Grandpa, Aunty and Uncle and cousins were around to help pack so I made so yummy pikelets.

Day 15

I made a difference today by emptying my school bag (lunchbox and drink bottle) and putting the dirty washing from my bedroom in the laundry. It made me feel more organised for the afternoon.

Day 14

Today I made a difference by packing two boxes from the hall cupboard. It was two less boxes we needed to pack before we move and Mum was very happy that I did that for her.

Day 13

I made a difference today by washing Mum's dirty car. It made me feel really good as it was a job that Mum didn't have to do.

Day 12

Today I made a difference by putting all my clothes away in my bedroom. I know I made a difference because it saved my Mum having to put the clothes away for me. I felt very good about myself for putting away my clothes because I don't normally put them away.

Day 11

Today I made a difference by taking our puppy Zak for a walk. This was helpful because it saved Mum a job having to walk him. I know it made a difference because she has been working extra days so doesn't have as much free time.

Day 10

Today I made a difference by helping Mum cook dinner. This saved Mum some time as she was able to do the ironing while I kept an eye on dinner cooking. I felt good about this because it meant that Mum would be able to go to bed earlier because she started the ironing earlier in the evening than she would have normally.

Day 9

I made a difference today by taking my sheets off my bed and remaking it. It made a difference because it was one less thing for Mum to have to do as she has been working lots lately. It was a good feeling to help Mum. It makes Mum happy when I help around the house.

Day 8

Today to make a difference I helped my Mum tidy up a cupboard. This made a difference because it saved Mum having to worry about doing it herself and was one less job for her to do. I felt really good in helping Mum with that job and she gave me a big hug.

Day 7

I made a difference today by helping my Aunty in the garden weeding. It made a difference to her as she works long hours and doesn't get a lot of time to spend in the garden. This made me feel really good because it is nice to help out family.

Day6

To make a difference today I helped my Aunty Lizzy do the dishes. This made a difference because it meant that my Aunty Lizzy was able to do other jobs. This made me feel very useful to her as she was behind in her other jobs around the house.

Day 5

22/05/09
Today what I did to make a difference was that I unpacked my bag because we were in a rush after school. I know that I made a difference because Mum said "thanks Rebecca" as I don't normally unpack my bag. I felt good about doing that for Mum otherwise she would have had to do more work. :) If another person was involved I think their feelings would have been the same as mine as it is nice to help your parents.

Day 4

today what I did to make a difference is I helped my granny carry in some of her stuff from her car.
I felt very good after because she said ' Thank you Rebecca .'
I know I made a difference because I could see that she was happy and if I didn't help her she would have had to go back and get some more.

Day 3

Today what I did to make a difference is I gave my mum a hug because she was upset.
When I gave my mum a hug I felt great because I cheered her up.

As part of our Inquiry unit, Room 12 from New Zealand has decided to put our topic on citizenship into practice. We have the challenge of performing one kind deed, each day, for 17 days, starting from the 13th of May, 2009. Follow us as we blog our citizenship journey.
